Seems like there is some interest in portals here lately. I suppose it is due
to Valves upcoming game "Portal" (Check it out!). Anyway, heres my start on
a portal based game using game studio.


This is just a little test room where you can shoot portals onto the walls,
floors or ceiling and walk (or jump), through them. The portals are crystal
clear and distortion free. Looks just like a hole into another room

Here is a little demo to play with, I hope you have some fun with it! (~5mb)

you should make it so you can shoot through the portals

wow, that's pretty cool, I have some problems generating the portals on occasion though, takes 2 or 3 shots.
Is there any chance you can share your method? Did you use pro, beta or sylex for render to texture?

well i had to download a dll called d3dx9_30.dll to get the portal demo working, I didn't have the expired issue

Yah, me too.

The demo is awesome, you can see yourself going thru a portal before you jump yourself. Cool!
