Gamestudio Extra 6.50
ATI Radeon X1650
amd 64 3700+ 2.20 GHZ 1Gb RAM

Hallo,
this problem drives me crazy. SED, MED, and WED works fine...
Until I decide to insert/import objects into the editors (open scripts in SED).
Ok, i have to explain, that it don't happen everytime. I often work on desktop with my files. When a lot of objects are sleeping on my desktop, the problem apears. The problem apeares in other directories, too, but mostly on dektop.
The problem: The "Datei open" dialog apears. I go to the directoy where my entities or what ever are waiting for their activation and the editors shut down when I reached this directories.

My thoughts: The editors hate to open directories with much files, or with files in it named by more than eight characters.

Please help me...
MfG
Patrick

Well, Windows programs normally don't "hate to open directories with much files" or something like that. This is no different for editors. I also don't think that items on your desktop affect file opening, unless you open the desktop folder with a program.

I'm afraid I can't give you a good advice, but maybe you can find help on a Windows forum. Check for some resident programs on your PC that might affect file opening, like some "directory history" programs. I can also imagine that a damage of the hard disk directory structure could lead to such problems - so run a hard disk check.

Otherwise, try to find out whether it's totally random or only happens with certain folders or files. This might also give you a hint where to look for the problem.
