Hey everyone,

This has been bugging me for months. When you add a cylinder in WED and then apply a texture to it, the texture is not seamless around the entire cylinder. Every 3 faces, the texture changes position, so it becomes impossible to have a smooth-looking cylinder like a pipe.

Does anyone know a way around this? Manually positioning the texture on each face is extremely difficult and time consuming!

Thanks.

Well, if you manually do it once, then add it as a prefab, you won't have to do it again.

If I am posting, it probably means I am asking a question. Or faking my knowledge by agreeing with somebody else.

Unfortunately, after about two hours of trying, I'm still unable to position the texture manually. I might try to use a "temporary" texture that's easier to position to get everything into place, and then replace it with the correct texture. I'll see how that works...

Just an update that it worked. I created a 256x256 texture made up of 64x64 blocks of color (each color unique), with the name of each color block spelled out in text within the block, to tell up from down. I then applied this texture to the model and discovered the problem: all textures on half of the cylinder are reversed, as though through a mirror! So, I had to create a second texture for the cylinder with a reverse image. Once I did this, positioning the textures was easy!
