How are you adding foliage, ie grass, trees, bushes, to your terrain? I need some ideas of fast ways to render foliage.
I have a way which involves some arrays but I would like to know how other people do it so I can improve the speed at which my code runs.

Look at SEED_IT for 3DGS the tool for easy object seeding with 3DGS.

The best method I know to do this is with SEED_IT

I think this programm is worth every single cent...and even more. It saves you hours of fiddling around in WED and produces very reliable code

EDIT: I'm too slow in typing

The results I get from my own code are not far off from what SEED IT does, but I am going to use my code for more than just foliage. So anyone else have some ideas, other than SEED IT? Coding suggestions and so on, not tools, please. If you think it might be too advanced for me, please post it anyway. Even if it means coding a plugin in C++. Thank you.

Maybe Georges 'grass' and 'forest' scripts could help out (AUM), they generate objects based on the position of the player and can be implemented to plant them on rgb or texture values.

I made a "SEED IT" script not too long ago, but I'm not sure exactly where it is. I made it for Loopix, maybe he still has it...?
