For the last few days I’ve been trying to get ageia’s PhysX implemented in A6/A7. So far I have all the basic rigid body collision shapes working: box, sphere, capsule, convex and static mesh levels as well as block geometry levels. I’m currently trying to buy the PPU card to see how well it will run with A7. Im also finishing the soft body implementation: cloth, soft bodies and fluids.

Very interesting!

Am I right that you can use the Ageia PhysX engine also withouth the card (important for compatibility)?

What are ageia's license for commercial use?
That is to say if you make the DLL, can we use it or do we have to pay royalties or some such scheme?

Amazing! I never thought I'd see cloth physics in 3dgs. This is something I'd love to use, even if to just play around with. Keep us updated, and more info on how this was done would be nice too.

@Fastlane - I think that Ageia has recently made it free to use their physics engine in commercial games. To garner support from more games, as more games with PhysX support = more people buying cards for it.

in short and english: none commercial use = free, commercial use = 50.000USD/game/platform, if you are a licensed parter you dont have to pay that fee (dunno how to get one but i guess they pick out projects)


none the less and beside this its great to see something like it in 3dgs.

i am definitely looking forward to see more ot this
