Until now, I have used Sylex for post-processing effects to great success. However, I needed a water shader, and while it works, it doesn't work great due to the fact that there's no water fog. The effect I'm talking about would be that it is very transparent near the shore and more reflective the further away from the camera it is. Is there any way to get a water shader with fog out of sylex, or is there maybe a water shader out there with fog?

The Sylex3 water shader seems... incomplete. I took it apart a while ago, and found alot that needed to be changed/fixed. However, that shader is quite slow, due to the 2 extra views for reflection/refraction.

I recommend you find another one, or have one written. I might work on one a bit later, but not now. Realspawn/Loopix/Slin have a very nice water shader (what your looking for), and you can ask them about it, but I'm pretty sure there not going to release it (yet)...

Loopix will release an environment packet in the next time and the watershader will be included together with a great looking ffp fallback.
There will be a great sky, fog and weather system as well as some other nice features.
It is very easy to use .
You can see some of the features in the upcoming game "Chopper-Zone".
You can find a thread in showcase one or easyly have a look at my blog (link in my signature). You can find some videos and pictures there.

That looks really good, especially the shore. I'm just hoping this pack is free. Thanks for the help. Btw when is he going to release it? .

PS. I saw chopper zone in the showcase forums btw. Looks like its gonna be a great game.

Hey I was surfin' round the forum and this thread caught my eye...

you think Hitman 4 Blood Money's water shader will work in 3DGS? (yes it is .fx)
If you say it does (and you say it aint copyrighted, I have no idea!)
I'll put up the script here!

We had people here in the past posting Prince of Persia Sands of Time shaders. Those were gone pretty soon, it's definitely copyrighted and would thus be illegal. (Not sure if it's legal if it's only used for 'study' purposes, but if you got the shader code by reverse engineering any part of the game, it's illegal!)

On the other hand it's tempting off course,

Cheers
