If I'm running 3DGS in windowed mode, how can confine the mouse within the game window only and not let it "run out" of the window such that other window applications get the focus and then throw my game window into the background?

you may get this effect if implement such functionality in a dll. try to search in the "higher languages" thread; I think this was discussed some time ago.
