well, we have to do rapid prototyping, so a easy platform is a must...

thanks to all of you for the links. I am just evaluating the shiva3D thing. it looks pretty good

If you want to make "teaser" games, for casual games. you should get into Shockwave or Flash programming.
(Java Applets have the problem that only 50% of users have a recent virtual machine)
Many PC casual games have an online test version (Bejeweld, JewelQuest etc) as browser-demo-games.
