I've only been working in GS for a few days and I am new to the 3D world...

I have a model (boy.x) and skin (boyskn.bmp). I can File | Import the boy.x into MED, but I can't figure out how to attach the skin. I imported boy.x, selected Edit | Manage Skins, and one skin (named "skin0") is listed in the dialog. From there I opened the Skin Editor and I see the map of the skin on the left side of the editor (it is arranged similarly to the actual image in boyskn.bmp). I choose File | Import | Skin Image in the Skin Editor, but nothing changes. I still have the map of the skin (if that is the correct term) displayed on the left of the Skin Editor, but nothing is displayed in the right side (and the zoom buttons on the toolbar are all disabled as if there is nothing to zoom in on).

Can you straighten this noob out?

Thanks!

Steve

Geez, every time I post a question I discover the solution... I opened the bmp file and resaved it as a pcx and the above mentioned steps (of importing the skin image) worked. Strange that I need to do this, as the *.x and *.bmp were commercial (purchased) files.

Gee, thanks for the insight (not). I read the manual over and over and over. I did the tutorial, and loaded the skin, and there was no user feedback, no program response, and no skin. Is that truly the best help you can offer?
