The free package have been delivered : just try it

As easy to program as simple blitz basic engine believe it , easy and fun to
program.
Simple functions to call , all standard shaders : water, bump, specular,
dynamic lights, shadows etc .. already in
Powerfull terrain manager.

Somple people have done some world editors, and you can complete them with your own requirements easily , by adding panel or others :
Yes you can have a windows interface with buttons etc ... and TV3D running
in a window :your own applications fast with Visual Studio tools

For Bioshock style game , Guild Wars or RPG style or any others it's perfect.
And it has integrated fast physic engine easy to use.

I have used it a lot in the past , very easy , fun , i'm gonna
try the package tonigh and think i won't be disappointed
the big thing , it has taken some years before official release, but the people
won't worked in it full days also.

The price is only 150$ and you can create Next Gen games
The only thing : you 'll have to program perhaps some world editor features you won't find in existing ones.
But's it's really easy as basic language (try the VB.Net version for example).

Jeepers! Fun!

It's too bad that you have to know how to use real languages with this. It's a full set of features, and the demo seems to run nice and fast.

Which world editor would be best for TV3D, their link please. And any code example of TV3D physics.

Thank you for this info. I almost forgot this option.

I am really impressed by the good options for lights and shadows (PRT ):

  • Point, Directional, and Spot lights supported
  • Managed lighting system to automatically select the best active lights for the object
  • Standard per-vertex lighting with transform and lighting support
  • Per-pixel lighting with bumpmapping support
  • Offset/Parallax tangent bumpmapping support
  • Cubemap filter for point light and bumpmapping
  • Material system with ambient, diffuse, emissive, specular, and power support
  • Per-Pixel and per-vertex precomputed radiance transfer (PRT) for meshes
Lightmap support for meshes and terrain

But what I missed: scene-management. Did you find anyting about scene-management? How can I organize big worlds with lots of models / rooms and objects? They have a good terrain renderer but what about the other stuff like grass, trees, indoors?
Maybe I just did not find it.

Best regards,
Frank

For grass, if i remember they have some special feature called mini mesh,
sort of optimised duplication meshes.

For scene , i htink it's to you to use some LOD depending on your game style.
if outdoor like in Oblivion , LOD with paging could work.
I don't think they have some real scene management.
But again depends really on what you want to do.

For editor, browse their forums on showcase or announcements :
planetX
PlanetX seems a good one.

showcase forums

Appart from that, It's next gen, with dynamic lights, nowadays shaders ready to use.

some users have done some little cool flight game or a american football game and some interesting things.

Well if i had to choose between Blitz3D, Dark BAsic PRo :
it would be this one indeed , lot less code to do than Blitz3D, lot more powerfull/functions/fast in 6.5 than Dark BAsic Pro.

I've tested lightmaps exported from 3DSMAX , works well, but 3DSMAX not cheap for everybody
A map editor generating lightmaps will perhaps be planned ?

Well great engine, just try to do a small game , to see how easy it is.
And using VB.Net or C#is as easy as XNA or even easier functions.

Try their tutorials.
