I stumbeled across this on GoNintendo... http://www.thestreet.com/_tscs/video/ind...m_ite=#10385341now, after watching the video, i have to agree with him partially. See, i love me my Wii. There are great games on that machine, and i own a few of them. But the problem is, 90% of the Wii games just SUCK.... they plain awefully suck... I mean, sure, games like Metroid Prime 3 Corruption, Super Mario Galaxy, Smash RBos Brawl or Mario kart are msut haves... But that are four... only FOUR games? I am looking forward to Resident Evil Umbrella chronicles, Mario and Sonic and a handfull of otehr titles, but i also enjoy casual games, something not all hardcore gamers enjoy. I own Wii play, and i do have fun with it. Same goes for rayman Raving Rabbids, red Steel or Mortal Kombat. But the thing is, with a machine like the Wii, where you have almost endless possibilities, how come all games suck? For example: The Wii Games with the ebst Graphics are GAMECUBE GAMES (Zelda, resident Evil 4) i mean, i am truly not a graphcis nerd but COME ON, the Wii is more powerfull than that? Its liek developers say. okay lets port our crappy game to the wii with some crappy motion sensing [censored] and we make big bucks.. no wonder those games dont sell... the wii is twice the power of the old x-box, wich was basically a tad better then cube... THEN SHOW IT it snot that the wii remote eats processing power, because it doesnt. developers are just lazy... i am happy with my wii. i can live with just one game each three months. i enjoy my virtual console. i jsut love it. but not everyone is me... do you have a wii? do you still use it? your thoughts this time?

i know two people with a wii: one has stopped playing it since he bought a 360. the other sold it on eBay when he finished zelda.
oh, there's another couple of brothers with it, but they just play ps3.
i plan on gettin it with my bro when brawl comes out. if it's already out, well, i'm not paying much attention atm. i haven't played a video game in months, and it isn't gonna happen for another couple the way my life is atm.
just my two cents, which i borrowed from a couple of my mates.

I aggree with that. I just realized oneday that i didn't use my Wii for month, it got boring and no interesting games came out.
That's why i sold my Wii and got a XBox 360 instead (ebgames was so happy to get my wii xD). I wasn't a big fan of XBox before, but there are so many more games for it that i like to play (eternal sonata, final fantasy online, bioshock, blue dragon, naruto, mass effect, etc).
The only great Wii game is Zelda IMO, and Paper Mario.

I think the problem is something else: Before its release the Wii often was laughed at for its poor graphics and strange controllers. So companies like EA pretty much didn't even consider to do games for the Wii. But as we all know now it has turned the other way round: The Wii is the most succesfull console of the 3 recent and EA for example has stated that their ignorance towards the Wii was a mistake and that they now will work on titles here. I think EA wasn't the only one doing so and because of this we only got some Gamecube titles (Zelda, Super Paper Mario), some PS2 ports (DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi, Mortal Kombat) but very few real Wii games like Red Steel... You'll have to give the Wii some more time as games aren't developed in half a year... Enjoy your meal Toast

Hi Spike,
A few comments....
1) 90 Percent of games on any platform suck. Thats why consumers do'nt own every game release for a console. Along with your 4 titles, I would add, Wii Sports, which I still play, and Raving Rabbits on the Wii... One of my programmers likes Madden Football on the Wii very much.
2) The XBOX is / was a very capable machine. The tools and knowlegde to exploit the Wii have only been available recently. For example we just recently got access to the fur shader that Nintendo developed...
3) Developers are not lazy, Publishers are treating the Wii like a vast low budget oppurtunity. This means development budgets that are very low in most cases. Low development budgets mean Crapware. I blame that on the cheap ass publishers not lazy developers..
We are excited to get rolling on our Wii projects, the trick for us developers in securing the proper budget so we do not feed the Crapware monster.
Nintendo 1st party is cranking out some sweet games for the Wii. I think EA's Simpson's game on the Wii may be awesome considering the Wii's control system and the art style.
Developers need time to work with new hardware. If publishers do'nt offer enough money to allow some innovation then you will see alot of regurgatation of crappy games.
One more thing, Nintendo is very good about getting internally developed technology out to the developers. Microsoft and Sony are not so good at that.

This is a familiy console. It is not created for single player experience in a dark, smelling room of a youngster / the messy office of an adult So it really might happen that it will get boring when hardcore gamers play it. PS3 or XBOX360 offer much hardcore gamer titles but Nintendo goes another way. So I think the real success of the Wii is happening in the living rooms. Nevertheless there should be new titles to support the fans, no doubt.
