wow. well i guess it's all in the DX10 support. PS3 and 360 are fairly beasty and would (probably) handle it on decent settings if it wasn't for the fact that it needs DX10 support.

wich is compeltely and utter bullshit because it runs fine on DX9...
it wont run because they dont want to. they can do it on DS if tehy want with lower graphics-.- it just wont run the wasy it is NOW on PS3 or Xbox360...

yeh, and even if that would only do with lowered settings, i haven't seen a screenshot yet that cannot be replicated just fine with DX9 and SM3.0.
perhaps they're too protective of their visuals? imagine them saying, "if it looks bad on a PC, we can blame their hardware. if it looks bad on a console it's our fault, so lets not make it on console."
farcry had console versions.

Crytek has already said that íf they are going to make console versions of Crysis, they would make a new game, not a port of the PC game, but a new version that wíll run on at least the Xbox360. (source: ( http://www.xboxic.com/news/2227 ) ) They're also in the process of porting the CryEngine 2 to PS3, so I don't see why it wouldn't be possible to also make a special PS3 version for that platform. Anyways... the latest rumor-free official news was that they said 'it's possible, but there are no plans at the moment'. Cheers

Yep and here is a video with that information: http://www.crytek.com/technology/cryengine-2/videos.htmlThe engine will be ported to the PS3 and XBOX 360. The game Crysis, however, will not.

The argument "the Boxes are not powerful enough" is certainly not the reason.
Perhaps the Sandbox editor is so specifically PC oriented that it simply doesn't work for consoles and that a whole re-write is required. If that's true then the Crysis levels aren't possible to be ported that easily, they'd have to remake their whole game. Perhaps they simply do not like the prospect of making the same game twice.
Don't forget that the whole game was build using their editor. The CryEngine 2 scales good on PC systems, but not at all 'out-of-the-box' on consoles because it wasn't designed for consoles.

Crytec looses money, by not bringing their production to the consoles. They would not wine about a bit lower performance of the consoles.
Good point. Apparently their PC dev team isn't up to the task to make a console version, either because they are busy or because they can't or don't want to. They are searching for ps3 programmers at the moment though... so perhaps they simply lack the programmers?
Cheers
