If you want an actual full physical ocean/liquid then you are going have to find a way through DLL because i believe the engine only supports rigid-body dynamics and this is a soft-body question.
You might be able to get a basic version if you change the vertex data of a mesh, but this is usually the job of shaders.
With your experience with gamestudio/programming i wouldn't dive into this right away. Shaders are quite a difficult topic to get your head around, this is from my own experience and writing a DLL is beyond most beginners.
