hi everybody, i've been working on some sort of techdemo in the last few days, and here it is:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UUPQKIVM (93.44 mb)
well i actually started working on it several years ago, with a5 and coded with c-scrip of course, that's why my project diary begins with version 0.12 instead of 0.0.....
http://laiila.com/evjial/to run it properly, you also need to install the midivid motion jpeg codec from here:
http://www.midivid.com/codec/MJPCodec.zip (0.17 mb)
you'll need it to display the video, that's playing in the middle of the room, which is also the reason why the download is almost 100 mb huge.
but, let me introduce myself, cause i'm quite new here:
i made my very first steps with acknex4 where i created my first little levels. and then i proceeded to work on a small first person action game after i purchased a5 gold edition which was delivered in a box with a texture pack, a model pack and, a quite fat manual
that was like a bible to me for a couple of months.
i really lost myself in gamedesign back then and even considered selling my final game, after a little web-seller emailed me that they've become interested in what i was working on. so i purchased the commercial a5 version, do get rid of the watermark and make my game look more professional.
but...the end of the story was, that i lost a lot of data after my computer got either infected with some virus which i couldnt get rid of, or simply got lost in some fatal bug, i dont know.... the only thing that has worked was the blue screen...........
i was 16 at that time, and using windows 98, which was a quite unstable os.
after that i lost my interest in everything that had anything to do with games.
but a few weeks ago, i rediscovered my hobby from teenage years while playing around with a recent demo version of the new a7.
and contiunued my work on this 3d gallery. well actually, i didn't know exactly what it will turn out to be, when i first started it, but it turned out to be a 3d gallery
well... and yesterday conitec sent me my license key for my new a7 extra edition, and today i finally uploaded the .exe to megauploads
btw, some time ago i also uploaded a short (30sec) trailer from the annulled a5 project, here:
