Hi all

French user here I'm going to try to tell my problem with my own words. I hope my english will be not bad..

Let's go :

I try to make the tutorial level with A7 version (trial and in the future Extra).

All things are ok but I have a problem with shadows : They look like stairs, look at this picture, perhaps you will understand what I try to say :

http://crystalnoir.free.fr/Creations/3DGS/tests/essaiombre.jpg

How can I correct this ?

thx in advance

Hi Crystal,
You might get a response if you post this question in either
Starting with gamestudio or the Tutorials forums.

Maybe even try to do a search on shadows and see what others say.

Anway, I could be wrong but it could be a number of things.
1) Your system specs.
2) You may need to tweak the build settings.
3) Or it may be the version your using doesn't allow for good
quality showing. I could be wrong on all three.

If you are going to repost your question in one of the forums above
please include the GS ver you are using and maybe a bit of info
about your system specs. This will make it easier for people
to answer.

I know because a few times I have asked a question in other
forums without much info and never got a reply.
It's seems like the more advance users couldn't be bothered
answering unless you give them every little bit of info
you can to help them answer.

All and all, They are really nice and helpfull people though.

Good luck...

Check out the AUM list in Acknex User Magazine threads for 'Smooth Shadows', it may be what you are looking for.

ok i'm going to read aum....perhaps...

It's not my config specs...impossible (athlon 64 , 3 Go DDR, geforce 7600 GT) it's not the better mais it's more than correct.

I use the Extra version but with the trial I have the same thing (and the trial has more than extra).

I tried severals build settings but no change...

I try to set up 3d_shadowdepth to 32 but no change.

snif

The only other thing I can suggest is look up the manual and do a search for shadow... There are a number of settings you can include
at runtime.

What tutorial was it I will try this end and see how it looks on
my setup..

I've already searched in the manual, and I've tried several commands, but no change...

This is the tutorial WED here : http://download.conitec.net/wed_tutorial_e.zip

you mean for the floor ? because the texture I used for the house is 0.5 smaller than the original. I'm going to try with the texture floor.
