I want to learn how to make multiplayer games so I downloaded the Alain's Multiplayer Workshop 1 from your download page. I am trying to test the sample game included with the tutorial but I cant get it to work. When i type -sv -cl in the command line (start--> run) I get this error: "Cannot find the file '-sv' or (or one of its components). Make shure the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are avaiable." The Tutorial says I need a minimum of 2 connected computers... what does it mean by connected ... like through LAN, or internet, or what?
You don't need type -sv -cl in the command line. Those parameters comes in the "Run Level"-box. I.e.: -wnd -d hires -sv -cl
Run means _Run_ from WED.

I cant get it to work... What im doing is making an exe sending it to one of my friends... telling him to make a shortcut to it and enter -cl in the target thing after the targeted file. While I have a shortcut to the exe which has -sv -cl in the target after the targeted file. I send him my ip address by using aim (insert --> ip), i start the server, he trys to join by entering my ip when it asks for the server to join. and it never works. What exactly do i need to do to get it to work? I also noticed in one of the other forms that it had 5 different numbers for the ip... mine has 4 (do i need the port or something if so how do i find out what it is?)
well, maybe this is a question about your internet connection. Du you use any router like adsl? If yes, you have to read how to bypass the port of that. Usually, adsl-router is blocking incoming connections.
