I have a sprite that sets up with the following code:

code:
	# Set up visuals:
ent_alphaset(0, 30);
my.facing=0;
my.oriented=1;
my.flare=1;
my.bright=1;
my.ambient=100;

Any reason why it would be dimmer on one side than the other, as in the above pic?

cheers,
tes

From the code it turns out that its an oriented sprite and also has transparency.Due to the transparency,the brightness of the sprite will
be affected by the background.
So maybe the background behind that is darker in one case and
brighter in the other case which makes the difference!

cheers

Yeah; the 'oriented'-ness definitely exposes the problem, (the sprite pans over time), though I don't think it's the source. Also, it would make sense that the sprite would seem brighter against an (even imperceptably) brighter background, though in that shot, the camera's stationary, and it's actually the sprite that's spinning, so the background is constant.

I'm almost inclined to believe that this is happening under A6 but not A5 -- anyone notice anything similar?

Tried that, and also did a my.light=1; my.red=255; etc. Now they're so bright, I need sunglasses. Thanks. [Smile]
