object from max to med ?

export from max as mdl

export as a set of .3ds or use .fbx export. Max doesn't export to mdl and you can buy an export plugin that allows max to but I did and wouldn't recommend it to you

Med imports .fbx animtion bone or non-bone. and you can import a model as .3ds then use a set of .3ds(one for each frame) and import them to make a full animated model in Med

Hi,

Thank you for reply.
I have heart .3ds cant export with materials.
I export it in .fbx and import it in med to convert in.mdl.
But in med it cant show any frame of vertex animation from manage frame.

Where i miss the step.
please help

I cannot say much about it beyond the video above. I will say how ever you do need the fbx200611 plug-in for this. I was using the one before it and was getting frustrated as it would not work for me like the video.

If you export properly, you can do bone animation the same way.

The artist working for me has had very good luck with the MAX2MDL exporter from Malabar. It exports the model, all the animation frames and the textures correctly in our experience.

MAX2MDL doesn't work well with 3dsmax8 or above in my experince... FBX is the best way to go. Be it for level or models wish they would update MAX2MDL and it's counterpart.

I am sorry to hear this. My artist has been using 3DS Max 6, specifically because I thought the plug-in required it (or an earlier version.) But then I read the actual requirements on the Malabar site yesterday and I thought they had updated it to work with later versions. Any specific problems you have noticed? Distorted meshes? Animation issues?

hello Michael,

Max animation that is scale,position and rotate is sucessfully.
Problem in taking vertex animation of object not bone animation,
I have made vertex animation of heart beat.
How can i take this,
Because in med i cant see any frame.

my game stuck on this from one month.
Please help
