Hi,
Ive just started with GS, and I have a game idea I need some help with.
Please find below a brief summary of what I would like your help with:

-Script for movement (walk, jump and attack) and code to call animations associated with each action.
-Ideas on how to get enemies to walk towards player when within a range.

If you have any ideas on how to solve the above, please let me know. I have attempted a few tutorials, but at this stage none solve (without errors) my problem. I have attempted these tutorials numerous times with many errors.

Errors are a fact of life if you dont take the time to learn the basics of working with your App of choice.

Possibly Lite_C may not yet be as fully conversent as C_script but you can gain a tremendous amount of experience by going thru the AUM series as well as just starting from scratch with basic projects first [both c_script and lite_c are featured].

The easiest [subjective of course] is side scrollers, top down view and FPS games [just small one level scenarios] to get acquainted with the syntax and formalities which will give you a solid foundation for your genre of choice.

I really need someone to write the code for this - if anyone can.
I need code that when the arrows are pressed the entity moves and animations are used. I am not permitted to use Templates (has to be hand-coded(?))
I have the model with actions WALK for 12 frams, ATTACK for 6 frames. and a BASE frame for standing still.

Please help. I have tried quite a few tutorials, including KH. Thanks.

I don't do coding that much, but i think your problem is that KH used C_scripting(the A6 script) when you should be using Lite_C(the A7 script)... heres a little tip too, since you are a beginner try to start small. Make a small level first and see how that goes, if that works go to something bigger. Also try programing, level design, modeling and animating, and skinning to see which one is right for you. Once you found that work on that one "job" until you get really good at that, once you are that point (it will take a while, took me about 2 years to get decent at modeling, but everybody is different)look for a team and work at the job you are good at.
