Anyone who creates textures should appreciate this. Its almost impossible to convert DDS to another format that you can use inside Gamestudio. The link below leads to a handy little converter program thats free to use. Enjoy!

why would you want to convert from dds to another format? you shouldn't do that since dds is a lossy format. usually other formats get converted to dds.

There are Gif and Tiff converters as well, even if these two are lossy formats

of course there are all kinds of converting tools and this one for sure is nice (especially if you can easily do batch conversions) but my point was that i don't understand why you would want to convert from "dds to another format that you can use inside gamestudio".

There is a DDS plugin for GIMP that can read and write DDS with several options. Of course you can save a file in any format as well.

And GIMP is also free and offers alot of more functionality.

just thought i'd post it. no need to analysis this to death. It also converts to DDS....

Why didn't you say this right from the beginning!
Just tested it. fast and easy to use tool as far as I can see!
Didn't have a look at the textures ingame, though.

The "DDS Converter" bases upon the NVidia DDS tools which are commandline orientated. More powerful than the ATI Compressonator and due to its commandline nature, predestined for batch processing of game artwork.

It is sweet!
