Hi All!
I have imported to WED a 3dsmax wall, then opened a texture
I have made with Photoshop(256X256pixels .tga format) and then applied to the Wall= Block Obj_000001

I can't see in the perpective view the texture in the wall

I have changed by clicking(right mouse button) on the perspective view, the Render style to solid.
And in the Menu: View , selected Textured.

But I can't see my texture on the Wall.

In the Surface Window I can see the image of my texture
and when I click on the arrows to select different surfaces of the Wall object, I can see that the texture is applied on each surface of the Wall as the Icon texture image is the same.

How can I see my texture on the perpective view?

thanks for your help

Hello, again. While I don't know the answer to your question, you may want to ask all of your texturing questions in the same forum topic that I started, I renamed it to "Questions About Texturing". I don't know how strict the moderaters are here, but doing so would help keep the forums cleaner, and since we seem to be asking the same questions, it would benefit the both of us ^_^.

ok I understand , but I found the solution, what I do is to click on Buil button, and then in the window pop up, I have choose "Upgrade Textures"
and then I can see the texture applied in the 3Dmodel in the Perpective View.

Thank you for help
You can see and Image of a cube with a texture I have made :

I'm pretty sure the manual or the tutorials go over flags. If I remember correctly, you can flag a certain side of a cube (Left, Right, Top, Bottom, etc.), and have the flag tell the engine not to texture that side when rendering. So, if you're making an indoor map, and you don't need to see the outside, you can flag the outside walls so they do not get textured (saves 50% of texturing) It saves video memory smile

Yes it is correct, but I am doing an outside map:

A garden with a house

I need to know how to texture differently outside

My example is a Wall with an empty window aperture.

This is more complicated because a wall with the aperture
has a lot of surfaces, and I do not know how to select
one entire side of the Wall to apply the texture.
