I was wondering if anyone from these forums had an Xbox360 Controller (The Wired One) hooked up to their PC?

I have made a small game in the last couple of days that we will be giving away for free over on our website in a few weeks. The project is for fun, but mostly to demonstrate Prooving Concepts for console quickly.

We would really appreciate help from any volunteer testers out there. Also we would be interested to see how it performs on your PC's...

There is also keyboard support, for those who still want to test.

Thanks buddy, your offer is most appreciated.

Really I wanted to try and get a sense of how many dev's here felt it was a vital part of the development process (at least as much as buying a controller) and that might give an idea as to the ammount of take up for this controller, for essentially PC titles.

Of course, my argument, is that if your serious about pitching a game idea to a publisher, the hot topic is console, and to be able to demo your title, at least with the right peripheral was certainly a step in the right direction.


I guess from another perspective, if you were looking to get a job as a designer in the industry, a portfolio with a game or two is a good idea, especially if they demonstrate multi scu thinking smile

I know that where I work, every dev has a 360 controller plugged into their PC, but then where I work is probably the exception to the rule, instead of the rule itself.

I will def upload the game either way, and your opinion of it would be gratefully received smile

I have Logitech Chillstream, thinking on getting second controller for two-player games.

So please post the demo.

There is no joystick support, I am using the Xbox library and really want to test this with a wider group.

I might add other controller support at a later stage, but this is all about the 360 pad.

I am suprised...will this work with that dll? my guess is that the PC doesn't recognise this logitec pad like a 360 pad, they just have similiar functionality? or does this work also on the xbox360 as if it was an official pad?

I have the Xbox360 wireless controller, but works the same.
So I will give it a try when U release it.

I have the controlers (wired and wireless)
also the drive control (I don't know the name in english)

where you found the xbox dll and how you use in the gamestudio?
I'm interesting in use the rumbre of the drive control

I will of course share my code to anyone who wants it, along with the Dll which I found here on the forums.

Frankly IMHO I think all games designed for PC should be made with this peripheral in mind.

I am in the middle of implementing the support drones at the moment:



The design for the drones is specifically inspired / directed by the Xbox Controller, with control of the Drones when un-docked, being handled by the Right Analogue Stick.

I am also looking at ways to use the matched colour buttons to the respective drone and add some interesting game play....

I will release the short demo later this afternoon.

Ive got the wired Xbox360 controller and will gladly give feedback.

By the way, did you get DocJoe's dll to work in Lite-C? Im having a bit of a problem with that.
