does anyone know what happend to the freeworld terrain editor. Since a couple of days the site www.freeworld3d.org is down.

Last time I communicated with the author (through email) he was pretty much interested in a continuing the work on it, even agreed with some suggestions I made for improvements. He also was having a lot of trouble with spam-bots in the forum (changed the forum software as well.. still).

Since then I haven't seen any update or anything new on the site, spam bots problem got worse and the forums were shut down permanently and now the site is gone as well.

Yup, the project's dead. Too bad cause it was a pretty impressive piece of software compared to anything else out there.

I own a FreeWorld license and was sad to see this disapear. It seems that someone else bought the domain name (and jacked up the price, I'm sure), so Soconne might have to choose another domain if the project is brought back to life.

It was just a hosting problem.
