Fbx has changed quite a bit since 11.2006. The newer versions support baking of complex animation (i.e. animation driven by constraints and blendshapes).

If the MED importer could read this new version of fbx we could finally import animation created on professionally rigged models with both bones and blendshapes. It would be great if the importer could be updated soon.

actually, I changed my mind on this after looking into what would be involved in doing it myself. Alias' support of fbx is abysmal. There is no documentation of the format at all. I can totally understand why there haven't been any updates smile

As an alternative, I'd like to suggest that Gamestudio start supporting imports from Collada. This is an open-source, fully documented interchange format that is gaining wide support in the 3d industry. It is very easy to intergrate into your pipeline, and there are free exporters from most major 3d packages.

Yes, Collada is a format that we're considering as an alternative to FBX.

Hi JCL I would like to see FBX kepted up to date.

The FBX for me works so GREAT smile

Collada is a good thing to support as well.
