Hello,
I want to publish a level online, but I don't want anyone using the .wmb file in any of their own projects. I'm not sure if someone needs the .wmp in order to view and use the .wmb. I have the extra edition of A7.

Your wmb file is only of use if someone has the code or the script you're using. If you want to protect your wmb files use the pro edition and the ressource feature or get some other packing software.

However, I have never heard of someone stealing .wmb files. That would be pretty pointless. Yes, he can view the level when he gots the wmb file, but thats the sense when publishing a game, isn't it?

If u dont have pro edition look out for free packers on the tools section (
i think). Or write ure own (Delphi, C++ or something). I have one, self written
(Delphi) but rather old. Not sure if i find it again.

I want someone to use an executable file but not be able to view the .wmb in WED. Can someone with a copy of WED use any .wmb file as an entity in their own projects, or do they need an acompanying .wmp/script file?

The wmb file can be used as an entity in other projects, that's right. No further script files are required. However, the user can see the wmn file anyways when plays, can't he? Then it's an easy task to rebuild it from scratch. So why are you so afraid of content stealing?

use zlib and lite-c, zip your levels with passowrd,when you need to use your level you can always unzip them in runtime.

I made some architectural models which would be difficult to replicate from scratch. It would be too easy for someone to just copy the .wmb into their own version of Wed, change the script and pass it off as their own work.
