Hi guys,

I have little knowledge of how to make a web site, as you can see by my sight, so I was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions for web design software, preferably cheap.

I can make a simple site alright, but need something a little more dynamic. -I don't want to do any fancy flash though, just more control over backgrounds and mouseovers that .css brings.

Any ideas?

u can use frontpage or dreamweaver. or u can try some website builder tools. which help non-techies to build website easily.

but seriously dream weaver, in my opinion is top of the line. incredible workflow and ease of access makes it my number one. i wouldnt use another program if my life depended on it.

Problem is dreamweaver is $400.

if u can do ur site within 30 days, use the trial version available from Adobe website. !

even it's cs4 now. too bad trial is not installing on my system.(some sort of setup error.)

If you have php or asp pr other programming access on your server you might look at a CMS. Once your templates are set up adding and editing content is usually done via a Word like interface making it easy for one or multiple people to add content and manage the site.

I use pspad, but its text based with good features.

As an alternative to Dreamweaver there is NVU and its inofficial bugfix called Kompozer. A bit buggy here and there, but good enough for normal needs. And it is freeware
