Hi conitec,

Can you implement an array for an additional light faktor that is passed to shaders as vecLightpos[8] or vecLightColor[8]?

This light variable could be useful for several things. By now it's only possible to receive the light's position, direction, color and range in the shader. Informations that I would like to pass too are for example: -spotlight opening angle, -intensity, -falloff factor.

May be it's also possible to use the w. channels of vecLightColor and vecLightDir for passing such information, I don't know whether these components are used for passing other information by now.

Greetings
Redphoenix

The light arrays contain all parameters that you can individually set for lights. Spotlight cone and falloff are global variables. You can pass them to the shader through material skills.

Yes I know.
But as global spotlight and faloff factors aren't realistic at all (as every light has individual falloff factors and spotlight cones), it would be nice to give the user the possibility to set up his own individual light factors for shader based lighting.

I admit that concerning static lights defined in wed my request might be difficult to implement. But couldn't it be possible to eg. pass the ambient factor (or any other factor) of an light emitting entity as additional light factor to shaders? This way at least for dynamic lighting additional lighting information per light could be set.
