Hi everyone,
I would like to create a game where the player has to try to catch dogs running around in a labyrinth. I did study (to some extend) the possibilities with paths and nodes but I wonder if that is the best way to let these dogs in a “random” way run around. Obviously it would not be very realistic to let them hit walls (and other obstacles) before they change direction but following a path seems to take the randomness completely away.

Any idea how I should solve this? Perhaps multiple paths and select one randomly? Perhaps no paths and let the dogs run around and use c_scan to avoid hitting obstacles?

I am not looking for someone to solve my problem but I would appreciate some suggestions to help me on my way

Best regards

Gerrit

Use a path with many branches, and when a dog reaches a node with 2 or more branches, use random() for taking one of the branches.
