I'm looking for a template or tutorial for a simple Vertical Shooter. They were so popular back in the arcade. (Games like 1942, Aero Fighters, Do Donpachi, Guwange, etc.) I think it would be fun to make one only with 3D models instead of sprites.

If there is no direct tutorial or template to make this type of game, which one(s) should I really look at which might set me off in the right direction?
