I wanted to export a 'static' version of a model I have as a separate mdl file. ( A dead body )

I opened the file, went to the 'dead' pose and tried exporting the frames in both ASC and 3DS formats. In each case the frame is exported but the texture mapping is not??

Can someone tell me how to do this? ( Other than digging up my copy of milkshape? ).

Untested idea. Cant you just copy the whole MDL to the new filename,
then delete the frames you dont want?

Actually it seems that doesn't work.

Although it has only one frame, my default model pose is the "Da Vinci" one, and this makes it hard to position in a level in WED.

Anything else I could do to achieve this?

Another kindof-tested idea.
1> Copy the model to new filename. (we'll no longer touch old model)
2> Open (new) model in MED, open the frame manager (under edit drop-menu)
3> Double-click the frame you want to keep. Click MOVE button.
4> Move this frame to BEFORE frame ZERO. (this makes it a new KEY frame?)
5> Still using Frame Manager, carefully delete all other frames.
(Its easy to accidentely delete the one frame you want in manager)

Save and done.

I attempted your instructions with no luck. frown
No matter how I move the frames around the models default pose remains.

This is a pain because I do my rigging and animation in MED but my modeling and skinning in Blender.

There really should be a "Make this Pose default" option in MED.

"Ooooh, I just had a thought, I heppened in my 'ed."

My instructions were created on a VERTEX animated model.
Is yours bones animated?
Try going into the edit menu and doing the "convert to vertex animation"
function AFTER saving to a new name but before opening the frame manager...

That did it Evil! Mine were using bones, converting to vertex animation worked.

Thanks a ton!

Good. I forgot about that. If bones are in use, the "construct" frame
remains at frame zero no matter what you do...
