hi, im trying to come up with some ideas for a beginners project, but i cant think of anything. I've thought about a 2d flight simulator, a mario-like game, and more, but i just dont know where to start. Does anyone have any ideas?

For me, that should be your favorite game to play... try to make it in your own.. just a suggestion, though..i'm also a beginner..

Important thing is you have fun doing it.. and learn as you go..

thanks, ive come up with a game where your on the bottom of the screen and you have to dodge these objects falling from the top. Its a simple idea, i just dont know how to code it properly. I've already got the images created and defined, its just im not sure how to make my character move from left to right, or anything like that.

Once you've realize the game you want to make.. focus on it!

Next problem you have is the implementation of the game. Right?
Here's some tips:
1. try to search in AUM for that specific problem
2. try to search in the forum for that specific problem
3. lastly, post in the forum your specific problem, in that case, other users can respond/understand it well.
4. don't give up & be patient! sometimes, there would be no people can help you... but just yourself!

Btw, this is Lite-C programming thread.. for your query, I assume it's a 2D game, try to look at the AUM81 (or search it)

try to follow the AUM examples, you should be able to build similar code with your own images and viewport, and once you have a character (or even a green square) moving left and right on the screen, you can add the next step.

ok, thanks a lot! Ill try to have this game finished soon, but im not sure how it will turn out. I found a game link in the beginners contest, and i've sorta been using it as a reference, but i still dont fully understand what im doing. But i'll keep working on it.

Download the last AUMS. There were workshops with 2d Games in there if I'm not mistaken. Read them, start with the first one.
The AUMs are great for beginners.

well, i dowloaded the AUM81 but when i pull it up it says navigation was cancled. I tried another AUM but it still doesnt pull anything up.

Right-Click on the AUM -> Properties -> Unblock.
