Hi, i am planning on buying gamestudio commercial when i get a chance, but before i do i want to make sure its what im looking for. First, i would like to create large games from sctatch, but do it without going too far over my head. Would this be a good choice for what im trying to do? And also, does commercial create only games, or is that just one thing it can do? Thanks!

Sorry, im new. I have a tendency to ask really simple questions, so please be patient.

Not the engine creates the games, but you.

So it really depends on your skill and how well
you have practise with the workflow.

You can compare long lists of features of the different engines.
But you also need to be able to intergrate them properly.

You can create anything you can imagine with this engine (as you can with most engines) The reality is that you will be limited by your programming, level design, texture creation, and model design ability with this or any engine. There is no perfect engine available and they all have limitations somewhere. The best thing about this engine is that it allows development of 2d, 2.5d and 3d applications with the same engine.

As for large games (we have all heard that before from new users) here is the best advise that can be given: start small. If you have a large game idea you need to write it down so that you do not forget it. Then start with some simple levels two rooms and a door for example. Because you want to do everything from scratch that would let you workout basic movement and doors. The older A6 templates would be a good place to start looking at how to do that.
