Why is there no "Open Library interface for physics libraries"? Gamestudio's physics engine ODE is severely lacking compared to all other physics engines.

How will this work in the future? Will the default networking, audio and physics features that come with the engine become a plugin which can be replaced?

there are Newton wrappers available to be used with gamestudio. search the forum.

I know and I use it.

But ODE is no good solution anymore to come with the engine by default and the Open Library interface would make integration of 3rd party solutions easier and more robust i guess (integration with the load/save system of the engine and so on).

I am curious about when jcl plans to replace ODE and how the Open Library interfaces will work.
