hi

i have the 6.2 com version and in the comparasion chat i saw
static shadows : 24 bit, high res .
i wanted to know if someone can tell if the difference is so big between shadows on the commercial to the pro (shadows are very important on my levels) .

thanks

Hi,
as far as I'm concerned this drawes sharper shadow edges by increasing the shadowmap resolution. You can achieve the same effect if you simply scale down your textures (0.5 scale = 2x sharpness and so on).
I would not suggest buying Pro because of this feature looking at the ease of this process

yes, scaling down the textures will increase the shadow detail, but it will also increase the number of portals created in the level. In smaller levels this might not be such an issue, but in the larger levels, this would lead to increased build times, and, in some instances, lower frame rates. It's all a matter of what you're prepared to deal with for the money you spend/t.
