First off don't get the wrong Idea's about this message I love Square Soft until the day I die and they made some truly classic games that hold a place in my soul. But since their merger with Enix they have lost their way with no signs of recovering. Enix isn't about the story or game play they only care high end graphics in unrealistic ways. Their trying to hard to make the best looking projects while extending their resources over to many games at one time. While this saddens me that games keep getting pushed back over and over again. I have come to realize that square no longer as a hold on the RPG market as they once did. If the smell of death is indeed on Square's breath then now is where we need to make our move. That's where we at Second Dawn come in we have been planing the next huge game for a while now. With the knowledge and understanding of what made the classics great we have come up with a game that is truly in a league with the greats like "Chrono Trigger" or "Final Fantasy VII" With our deal with Ubisoft this is not just our chance to hit the market hard it is all of ours. This is everyone's chance, we are trying to not only sell a game or change RPG's but promote the A7 studio. This gives everyone a chance to break in to the market. But we can't do it alone we need your help and odds are if you read this far you can help. Ubi wants a demo before they fund us, We need skilled modelers, artist, coders basically anyone who can help to join the cause and help us make the greatest game we can.
This is our chance let's take it.
If you feel you can help or would like to know more not Hastie to PM me.

Yes that proofs under the current time and age (we are still in state of a credit crisis), people didnt spend as much money on games as opposed to a year ago.. also, in that year they didnt release any major titles (atleast didnt spend enough marketing on it). This should be a worry to you, rather then an opportunity. If people spend less money on games (on a AAA titles coming from SQENIX), why would they buy a totally unknown RPG from an even less famous publisher (that is, if you have the ubi deal)? I'd seriously reconsider making such big statements, and trying to compete to the big guys... To be honest, as an indie you'll make more fame with your game (world of goo as good example, and yet again, read AUM86 it doesnt make you millions). I'm not saying your game is gonna suck, but it definatly needs something new (and not only gameplay wise, but maybe even some experimental art style never seen) to cut it. good luck. regards,

You can't really expect a first game like this to overthrow an entire company which started way back when. If you want to make a good rpg, then do so, but don't expect it to cause an established developer that every rpg fan knows to be shut down. That's like saying you'll shut down Valve by making Half Life 4...
I'm sure your game could be very good, but let's be realistic. Unless you make an RPG that shakes the foundations of RPG gaming as we know it (which could happen) then you won't take over the industry. Who knows though, you could be the next Valve and make one game that caused a revolution, which would be cool.
