I'm work on a A6 TechDemo in Doom3 (Adult) style! (inoffiziell;)
I think it will be have no interactive elements but a great fly cam scene.
(shaders, all textures bump maps, and many more...)

@dj:
tell me when its done

I upgraded recently from a5comm to a6comm, and I can tell you that the engine itself seems indeed to have gotten better. If they will, besides shaders, implement bumpmapping for the levels it should be worth the money, (if you'r not too short of it.)

As far as the editors are concerned though, they still are the worst I ever payed money for.
WED in not handy and does sometimes very queer things. (as does MED)
You can use it, but it is not really good.
MED is absulutely useless. They are not worth it.

So if you'r only interested in the engine it is ok.

AFAIK the next update shall support shaders for level geometry but I'm not sure so don't rely on my statement.

Whether WED+MED are good tools or not is a whole matter of opinion - I wouldn't base your desision on that until you have used them. As for a techdemo, myself and Rhuarc have one in the works (for A6).

This is not a matter of opinion actually.
WED, if you ignore certain things, is usable.
But that MED is not in the faintest even close to nowadays, even in the cheapest editors available, common standards, is an obvious fact.

(Would you ever buy such a poorly programed tool in a shop if there was no engine to go with it?
No, you wouldn't)
