Has anyone experience in GSTNet with the A7 engine?
Is it actually still working on A7? Because the templates aren't working.

It would be best if you ask that NFS42. He created it, he'll know the answer. But i think it's paused or something like that.
Btw, have you tried ANet plugin? It became much better than GSTNet.

Yes, I already made a game with ANet demo. Now I want to
connect more clients, but not spend 59,00€ for ANet Standard.
What about the integrated Multiplayer engine?

I would not recommend it. But it depends on what type of game you need it for.

What are the disadvantages of the integrated engine?
Is it because of bigger overhead?

No, it's not that easy to use as other implementations. And also searching a game over the internet makes problems on some systems/networks (but that could also be because of false settings).

The native GS MP is using Direct Play which isn't used by most of the modern games (and I think there are reasons for that).

The advantage of the integrated MP is that its the easiest to use, and needs the least complicated code because it does entity updates automatically over the network. Also the tutorial is better for the integrated MP.

But the disadvantage is that you have a limit of 8 players in the native MP. GSTNET and ANET can use more players. So for a big project you must use an external library, or use Gamestudio Pro that does not have the 8 player limit.

If the 8 player limit does not matter for you then you can just compare the native MP tutorial with the ANET tutorial and try both and decide yourself what you like more. I found that the native MP demo is a little faster and uses less traffic than the ANET demo.

You could use native MP engine for some really simple games. Like some turn-based simple games, or something like chess and such type of games.
Other than that, use some plugins...

The produced traffic mostly depends on the code the user wrote, not on the library he is using.
You are right that ANet produces a bit more traffic than GS MP but the difference is that little that it doesn't matter.

Well i found a bug in GSTNet that makes it unuseable frown.

GSTNet_ent_remove messes up with the creator IDs, that means not synced models and other problems.
