I am using Paint Shop Pro 8. I want to save an image to 32 bit, but I see no option for this depth. I only see support for 8, 16, and 24 bit. Can someone tell me how to save in 32 bit?

Thanks, that is helpful info, but the area that was supposed to be black, and thus transparent, now shows up white. I still think it needs to be 32 bit which it isn't.
I need to get the image to a 32 bit according to the manual.

Hi!

I looked in my paint progam for 32 bit

and got the following information
Quote:

a CMYK image is referred to as 32-bit CMYK (8 bits x 4 channels).
and
JPEG supports 8-bit grayscale, 24-bit RGB, and 32-bit CMYK color modes.

Hope this helps!

I already tried 8 bit, and I got an error - only 24 and 32 bit supported.
I will try photoshop. Thanks

Ah... Photoshop did the job. I had to do things a bit different though. The image background must be transparent, not black. From there it's easy. Thanks all.

you probably needed to create an alpha channel, without one you can not save in 32 bit. the background option of photoshop might have done that for you.
