Not sure if this is the correct place to post, but I couldn't find another area suitable. I recently purchased Gamestudio A7. I installed it on Windows Vista. I have since upgraded to Windows 7 (fresh install, not really upgraded). I took the ack6e.key that was sent to me via email and tried to run it in 7. Windows gave an error saying that it did not understand the file type. I tried to open it with regedit.exe and it said that it was not a valid binary key. However, after installed gamestudio, I opened it up and it did say that it was registered to my name, so I'm not quite sure what is going on. Just wondering if I need to request a new key for Windows 7 and how to do so. Thank you for any responses.

You don't have to open the file. Windows thinks that your *.key-file contains a registry key that can be added to the registry. But it's just for the game editors to read. You just have to put it into your Gamestudio folder and you'll be registered. As you say that it says that your version is registered, there is nothing wrong with your key.
