That's okay by me. I think you've really proven yourself. I hope you find some good work from the users here.

The last question was simply out of curiousity, as we use (in Finnish military) 7.62mm rounds though the peacekeepers use modified rifles that use 5.56mm.
I sincerely thank for answering, for free, to the questions asked.

Well thats where you have to balance realism with gamedesign.
Making a shooter "realistic", and looking at you character sitting down, deassemble and clean your weapon might not be too interesting for the game-pace.
Also reloading will take longer. (especially since you reload a whole clip, and not single bullets. So reloading after half a clip would leave a half empty clip then.. not a sum of remaining bullets like in all shooters.)
I would like to see how a fully realistic shooter would play like. (including realistic reload-times, overheating, bullet-trajectories and impact on bodyparts) And if it is fun then at all.
(imagine, that you have to take apart and clean your MG42, and an enemy comes up. Then you use the barrel to smack the enemy over the head, that would be funny)

in COD:MW and COD:MW2 you lose the bullets remained your previous clip, if you reload before using all the bullets in it, just to point it out.

Thats the thing, you don't have to sit down and strip and clean the weapon ( I guess that would take a bit of programing). An easy way of cleaning out in the field is wipe down the weapon with an oily rag, it does'nt remove rust, but it prevents it.
you have given me an idea, Instead of the barrel on machine guns on shooters showing that they over heat by smoking, they start to glow from the heat and eventualy jam/explode (say after 1000 rounds). But another good thing would be to be able to change barrels on machine guns before they over heat and jam/explode, but you only carry one spare. you would have to wait while the other barrel cools before swaping again.
Also entering water with a weapon can be dangerous, weapon fills up with water, you get out of the water, you fire and KABOOM... no more rifle.I think this could also work on a shooter game as well, all you could do to remedy this on the game is shake the gun (using the melee button?).

I think I'll have to store your email I share your passion man. I happen to collect and shoot military surplus firearms, but I really don't know much beyond their history and how to maintain them, oh and of course how to shoot them. I'm not currently working on a game right now, but I am working on a few military themed sci-fi novels. What I need help with is essentially trying to match the grittiness and realism that can only be found in nonfiction. One of my biggest issues right now is tactics and weapon handling in freezing cold weather. None of the military guys I've talked to before could really help me out. Since everything is a set piece I could send you any and all conditions and essentially you could help me work things out the way I want in the most realistic manner. I'll be in touch. Also I may be starting a project with the UDK later this year. The weapon system I want to implement is similar to Infiltration (UT mod), so essentially it uses real life variables to naturally balance things out. I'll definitely contact you if I go through with it.
