Hello!I would like to know if can i import a model from 3ds max to MED and when it opens in MED it is allready skinned like it is in 3ds(without using skin editor etc.).Can somebody explain me step by step please?

to your question: In med you can import the format from 3ds max (file/import), I think that should work laugh

Oh,sorry...
Yes,but it doesen't open with the textures on.It opens with a blue collor.What shall i do in 3ds?Is it something special?

I only know from wings if I import a 3ds. its load with texture but you will first have to delete the current texture and just create a new one (of cours with same texture)

well,yes it opens with the textures but they are very very little and repeat alot of times

@Mikaldinho : This was already mentioned, please read the whole thread !!

Topic: Have you tried opening in an other program than med? maybe it will work there and you can export it as fbx from that program laugh

i tried...I exported directly as FBX 2006 and if i try to import it directly in WED it sais:Crash in C:\ProgramFiles\GStudio7\wed_plugins\WedFbxFiles.dll'

Using .3ds works fine with me, and it exports the texture mapping just fine. Make sure your texture filename is less than 8 characters long and that it is either .bmp, .dds, .tga or .pcx. Also make sure the texture file is in the same folder as your .3ds file, else MED will ask you to find it manually.

When you export a .3ds file from 3DS Max it should ask 'Save 3DS Max Texture coordinates' or something similar. Make sure you say 'Yes'.

i did all you said,but it renames the picture and it is nowhere...so i have to find it manually...It is wrong?
