Hello,
I don't know exactly how to start with a thing I want to improve in my game, so I hoped I could get some ideas here.
My problem is that I want free-shapeable Streets. So not just streets that go like this: - | + . In my game right now I use squares which have streets just with diffrent textures, but this let the level look a little bit boring.
So I'd like to know how can I place these streets at all? (I know there exists the Ice 3.0 Street-editor so I could use that I guess)
And then I'd like to know with which pathfinding code I could let many cars drive on these Streets, as the ice editor doesn't come with pathfinding nodes or another pathfinding solution.
Don't worry I don't ask for code here, just for ideas.
Thank you, Nico

No i already have my car AI, it's not a racing game either. The only thing I need is to know how I can create such streets with Pathfinding combination.

Yeah also thought about that, but it would be nice if the Streets would automatic create Nodes (or whatever) for pathfinding. And I want that people can make own maps.

I know. My question was how I could do it the best to make a Level-Editor(placing roads) if I want the roads to be flexible and not just fixed parts.

I know I just want to know a theoretical way how to archive that i can click once and set the startingpoint of streets and then pull them as you want in curves and such

well that is a complex system. You would have to start small, and build it up more complex. ..... it would have to check to see if the cursor has moved, from the original pos, to the left right, or up / down, and when if it gets past a certain point (the end of the first model) create another model, of the same type, until your script notices a change in left / right movement, then it would create a bend / curve..
I would suggest a menu, that allows you to select what road piece you want to use, and then you can click and place them. much much easier to start off with.
