According to the manual, dplay_port can only be set at the beginning of the main function and cannot be changed afterwards. Why's this? In my application (and I assume most) session_connect or session_create aren't performed on startup, and it'd be nice to let my users choose which port they will host through without having to restart the application.

You can in fact set dplay_port just before session_connect or session_create.
