On an impulse I bought a Wacom Bamboo (Pen & Touch version) since my touchscreen was not accurate enough for drawing, and my old trust tablet died. I must say that it really meets my desire for a tablet. Especially the (finger) multitouch feature is great.

Although I had no CD drive to install software, I could easily download it from the site where they support windows and mac. Up to date drivers are available, nice piece of software covering all settings I need. They even made a button luring developers to the free SDK page for developing bamboo apps. Haven't tried it, but sounds tempting.
It's very mobile, and being the same size as my laptop it easily fits in my bag. It features pen and touch, and works surprisingly better than my touch screen tongue.

Price was 90 euro, among the cheapest, and for this quality I think it was quite okay. Never had anything from Wacom before, they really do have top quality products.

There were 3 different kinds of bamboo, "Pen", "pen & touch" and "fun". No idea about the differences, I guess accuracity or so, but all priced the same.

Anyone else got one?

Greetings,
Joozey

The Bamboos are really good tablets. There's nothing bad to say about it - it does everything it should just fine and the few features it lacks can be found in the more expensive Intuos series. So unlike tablets from other vendors there are no real drawbacks making them good low budget tablets...

I think the difference between the editions was about the actual area you can draw on - not accuracy or something like that...

Not only can the Intuos be purchased in larger sizes than the Bamboo, but the Intuos has twice the pressure sensitivity compared to the Bamboo. So, with the Intuos, you can get better range of line thickness, opacity, etc.

It is somewhat less accurate than my previous tablet. It is clearly snapping when drawing small shapes. There was also a bamboo version without touch. I think those may be more accurate on pen. But so far I am quite pleased with it. Also bought the wireless accessory kit. Bit expensive to my taste for an accessory, but of course it works like a charm laugh.

I think the major advantage of an Intuos is that it recognizes the angle at which you're holding the pen. The Bamboo completely lacks that feature which can be quite handy...
