Hi JCL,

enums, unions ... are on the future list for quite a long time.

Are there any plans to add them in the near future?

Currently I am working on an Fmod wrapper for our MM3D project and there I miss enums every day. The #define ... workaround isn't that pretty :-)

Enums were listed there almost forever and I wouldn't wait for that. Turning enums into lists of defines is easy cake, just go for it wink

@HeeIX: i have done that for my precompiler, calling it lazy enums grin

I use defines for enums, too ... but I think it's very sad that some very basic things are still missing in lite-c. Is it that much work to add enums and unions that they are on the forecast list for such a long time?

Not really. But it's not totally trivial either. Language elements that are nice to have, but not really needed, must wait as long as more useful features are on the implementation list. That's why they are on the list already a long time, and will probably stay for a while.

This standard stuff is very nice to have when trying to use DLLs which come with interface header files written for ANSI C...

It can be a real pain to rework those.

Firoball is right. I had to "convert" not that less enums from the fmod header for our wrapper.
