Lighting for heightmaps #396620

Hi Gamestudio Community,

mein letzter Besuch hier ist schon länger her aber vor kurzem hab ich doch nochmal das Programm hervorgekramt um ein neues Projekt zu beginnen!

Mein Problem: Ich möchte gerne eine Höhenmap mit Detailtextur verwenden. Das funktioniert soweit auch, Aber leider weiß ich nicht wie ich das Licht und die Schatten des Levels und der Level Modelle auf die Höhenmap werfen kann. Die Schatten sind nur auf Levelblocks zu sehen, leider aber nicht auf meiner Map.

Sorry wenn die Frage vllt eigentlich seh leicht ist bzw. schon oft gestellt wurde, nur leider konnte ich über die SUFU nichts finden und bin selbst sehr aus dem Training!

My problem: I tried to use a heightmap for my newest project. All in all this works fine, but i don't know how to make the shadows and the lightning from the level and its objects appear on the map. You can see them on level blocks but the map isn't lit at all. How can I change that?

Sorry if this question is too easy or asked a million times before, but i couldn't find a decent answer through the search engine. Also, I'm quite uot of training as im scripting again after a long time!

You have to check "Terrain lighting" in the (advanced) map compiler options:

Generates lightmaps not only for blocks, but also for terrains. Terrain lightmaps are cast by the level geometry and by the terrain itself.


As models normally do not cast shadows, this only affects level lighting and blocks. The terrain normally receives shadows by (dynamic) models if there SHADOW flag is set, what type of shadows do you use (stencil, decal, ...)?

Btw. the next A8 version will support static shadows from static models, too:
