I have two questions.
Where in the Level Editor do I adjust the shadow map resolution?
At the moment I get shadow map staircases.

Next question, where in the script or elsewhere do I adjust the camera near and far-clip values? When against a wall, the camera frustrum is kicking in some tough near-clip value.

there is a slider for lightmap resolution at the map compiler panel, somewhere on the right side.

I did.
It doesn't fix the problem.

Still, need some good advice how to overcome these two problems.

why do you use that old version?????
in latest A7 there is a "Lightmap resolution" slider!
A7.86.6 - compiler v7.34

but better to upgrade to A8

I downloaded the update and I can't see that slider.
Is this a pro Edition feature?

no , it's in free too I checked.
not at the top, it's just over those check boxes of the bottom section.

I found the near clip value
it's under project manager "Display"

one problem fixed.
still the shadow map problem...

I have 3DGS A7 Extra Edition.
But this version is from Sybex.
I got it from a supermarket.

I think it does not matter, you can update 3DGS at least to latest A7 from 3dgamestudio.com downloads page. you just need the key7e.dta or key8e.dta file to keep in 3DGS folder to unlock free edition to extra, but functionality is the same, the only difference is that in extra you can compile to exe.

I only downloaded the update because was thinking the update should be enough.
Or do I need the full setup again?

Can you post a screenshot where that slider is?
