I actually never tried this before, but just realized I can launch multiple Zorros at once. This makes my hardware work better, because with one Zorro it only uses a small portion of the available computing resources.

So my question is... what should I be worried about if doing different Train operations on the same strategy (with regard to the Zorros bumping into each other, for example)?

Presumably, I can't do anything where they would both be using same-named .par files. Therefore if performing multiple WFO operations, I guess I would need to just change the script name? Any other known issues (ie memory overlap issues?)

I'm just trying to gather specs on different WFO operations, compare, and then select the best combination to move forward with. Yesterday I was working on USDJPY and had to do about 10 different WFO scenarios. In between each one, I had to wait about 15 minutes. During that time, I munch on chips and leftovers. So 10 scenarios x 15 minutes x handful of chips = way too much junk food. If I worked double or triple time, then it would only be about 5 minutes per cycle I think.

To make matters worse, we're almost out of cranberry sauce...

For the sake of your weight, definitely run multiple Zorros in training mode. We're doing that too.

The only thing to take care of is indeed to save your strategy under multiple names. If two Zorros trained the same strategy, the data files would get the same name and mix. This is not desired. If you've split the strategy into different asset sets for training, you can combine the data files after the training with the "Combine" script.

I find that if I run more than 3 instance of Zorro, performance is severely degraded for all instances, despite having 6 cores and plenty of RAM.

I see a number of threads recommending turning off Windows 7 UAC. Looks like this is another place where this advice applies. I finally tried it and I now see better resource utilization with multiple instances. I am using a virtualized Win7 instance (VirtualBox) so the risk is low. I wish I realized this earlier.

Can I use multiple (free) Zorro instances for downloading assets prices from FXCM? The reason is the same argued before, save time.
