Me too! It was definitely a buffering issue with my card and the new Nvidia force drivers. I finally ported successfully back into a6.
Now I can have some fun. Thanks OB.

One other thing...if you read the vertical sync thread that I bumped(in Future), take note that jcl said not to release a game with triplebuffer enabled. I take this to mean to go ahead and provide the option for the user to enable it(via an options menu), but make double the default. He also said this info. will be added to the manual. I think the tearing/shearing problem only appears on very specific systems and, of course, I'm one of them.

OB..I too am using an FX5200.
@destro55, what video card are you using?
Could this be a card specific issue? I wonder if Jcl's test box has one installed.

Hello,

I am using a fx5200 as well.

Unfortunately, it appears on my old mx400 as well

Thanks!

Just a couple simple ideas, but publish your game, burn it onto a Cd, and try it in a number of friend's or office machines - see if it is machine specific rather than swopping just video cards in the same machine.

Take your time and observe the results. - notice if they have xp, 98 etc service pack 1 or 2 and so on, if you can a machine it doesn't do it on, that should give you a bit of a hint.

Also, if you or a friend have a spare machine - try starting from scratch and building a virgin machine - one with just the OS, e.g. winXP, service 2, direct X 9c, no other software other than 3dgs.

Hmmm... my parents have a FX5200.. I think that I'll have to pay them a visit and see if I can replicate it on their card as well. See if we can build a profile of the problem.
