Please help, I messed around and somehow hidden my project view window completely. I cannot find it, and I have tryed everything to get it back.
My attempts: Checking/Unchecking project window in views/toolbars Changing my screen resolution(highest to lowest) Moving all my views around/minimizing Uninstalling and reinstalling 3DGS
I have looked very hard and cannot see it anywhere. Please help.

![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif) I have tryed moving, minimizing, hiding the taskbar, but it's no where to be found. I also tryed adding new views, moving them around and minimizing them, but it's still not there. Anything else, maybe something in the registry? -raiden

YAY! I got it back, acutally I never did find it, but I simply created a new account in XP and when I logged in on the new account, the settings in 3DGS where back to normal and all the windows showed up. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif) Thanks for the replies guys. I'll try not to make that mistake again. -raiden

Glad you found a way. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif) Still, it bugs me that we didn't find an answer. I'm bound to lose it myself someday. lol Another thing to try would be File/Preferences/Advanced/ and uncheck Save Window Positions... or try opening a previous project where Save Window Positions was checked.. or chant and wave voodoo chicken over monitor... ..ok, ok.. I'll try to let it go. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif)

I agree, when this happened, I messaged a friend to see if they knew what could be done, and he messed with his and did the exact same thing. Not a good thing if it is that easy to do.
I'm glad it's back, but I wish I would have taken my time when changing the accounts. I created my new machine account, and deleted my old one, thus deleting all my internet shortcuts, my email contacts, msn contacts, my document files and pictures. That really sucks, even a system restore did not bring those things back.
Oh well ya live and ya learn, pretty sad though because I am an IT admin at my job .
So take it from me, if you have this happen to you, be careful deleting accounts, back up your files up or they will dissappear.

Hello every one (I’m the friend) while I was talking to Radien the other night he explained his dilemma to me. I then proceeded to try and lose my project view window, and I did “cool no were to be found”. I also found the solution to this problem, should this happen to any one else. It’s actually quite simple. Just delete your WED.CFG file it's in your main 3DGS folder. That’s it.. problem solved this file is automatically replaced the next time you close WED. obviously with out it every thing loads up default, so you will have to reset things to the way you like them but it’s the quickest and easiest way to fix the problem and it takes about two seconds to do. Hope this helps anyone in need, and I’m sorry Raiden, I was too late to help you.
Cheers
Nagshi

Reading that made me actually cringe. It's days like these you need extra cheesecake.

Well done. Good to know. Thanks. It sounds like a good file to back up when you have everything set just how you like it.
As much as I tried, I wasn't able to completely lose the project window without being able to get it back, but I'm sure I will sometime when I'm chasing a deadline. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif)
